I have decided to leave this section unchanged, despite the several references
to having multiple tutors working for the company, just so you can see what the
overall philosophy of my business was (and still is!).

"You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself."

-Galileo Galilei

Our philosophy is simple… We value the extraordinary abilities of the gifted mind, and we set these minds focused upon a single task: assisting in the education of your child. These gifted minds are The Ivy Tutors.

As you can see from perusing our website, we only hire the brightest tutors that have graduated from the very best academic institutions the world has to offer. While other tutoring services and centers may compete for your patronage with standardized processes and expensive advertising, our strength lies in our tutors. “But,” you might say, “can they teach?” I’m glad you asked.

I asked myself that very same question when I started The Ivy Tutors in 2005. While I have discovered empirically along the way that the answer to that question is a resounding “yes,” the deeper question implied here is “what makes us better tutors?” The answer to that question lies in our fundamental assumption: anybody can learn how to learn. It is our belief that the major difference between “smart” people and “average” people is that “smart” people have their own very effective way of approaching new knowledge and grasping new concepts. In other words, its not “what you know” but “how you learn.” Thus our tutors are experts at knowing how to learn- and they make it their job to instill this ability into their students.

Finally, with so many smart people on our team, we make it a point of meeting once per month to discuss our tutoring stories, and to feed off of each other’s brainpower and discoveries. In this way, we can apply every tutor’s best practices to every student we tutor. We call this institution “The Ivy Tutors Brain TrustSM.”

I’m proud of the team we’ve assembled, and I think you’ll be pleased with what brilliance we can help your student find within themselves.
